Interdependence

Started in 2018, the project – comprised of 11 segments by filmmakers from all around the world – reflects on the intertwined relationship between human society and nature that is aggravated by climate change on multiple scales, hinting at possible solutions.

Sasha

"Six years ago, I was sitting in my office at Mosfilm and working. My assistant Nastya asked me to answer a call on the city phone: - Listen to these people, these are the parents of a girl who urgently needs a bone marrow transplant operation. I called Chulpan Khamatova, and her Foundation helped transport Alina to Moscow and put her in a hospital. My wife Sveta then arranged an auction, we collected the money and gave it to Chulpan. After a while, Alina had an operation. Before falling asleep under anesthesia, she said — " If I recover, I will try to become an actress. Alina is now healthy. Before the New year, I shot her with a digital camera in the short film "Sasha" for a charity auction, which was once again held by Svetka.

Every year, 25,000 people die on Russian roads. You could say a whole city is disappearing from our planet. And about a third of its "residents" were involved in an accident due to speeding. Many drivers do not consider acceleration even at 30 km / h a violation, but statistics show that they are wrong. Land Without Evil: Ivy Maraey

A filmmaker tracing the steps of Swedish explorer Erland Nordeskiold travels with a Guarani Indian from the highlands of La Paz to the swamps in the forests of South Eastern Bolivia, a place where uncontacted indigenous still exist. Philosophical Road Movie into the heart of Guarani culture of Bolivia translates ancient knowledge and explores the importance of the other in the construction of our identity.

The Purse Snatcher

Alex is very close to his elderly grandmother partly because his busy parents seem to have little or no time for him. One day he surprises two boys from his school leaving her house and is shocked to find her tied up inside – they have robbed her! Alex is sworn to secrecy as his gran is worried that her daughter will think her incompetent. This secret leads Alex into trouble as the two boys accost him in the street and bully him into becoming a pickpocket ("tasjesdief") for them, mugging old ladies. Alex learns how to deal with this situation in the end.
