7 Plus Seven

After a 7 year wait, director Michael Apted revisits the same group of British-born children from Seven Up! The subjects are interviewed as to the changes that have occurred in their lives during the last seven years.

Seven Up!

A group of British children aged 7 from widely ranging backgrounds are interviewed about a range of subjects. The filmmakers plan to re-interview them at 7 year intervals to track how their lives and attitudes change as they age.

56 Up

When a cross-section of seven-year-olds were interviewed for 7 Up in 1964 it was immediately evident that their social backgrounds influenced their attitudes towards life. While the upper class children were confident and self-assured, those from middle and working class backgrounds were resigned to a challenging life of hard work. This premise was put to the test every seven years when the same group were interviewed about the progression of their lives. 49 years in the making, the changes that occurred to the original 14 make for fascinating television and are in many ways the stories of all our lives. From success and disappointment, marriage and childbirth, to poverty and illness, nearly every facet of life has been captured on film. Now, at the age of 56, the group are once more brought together and, with the benefit of hindsight, assess whether their lives have been ruled by circumstance or self-determination.

Changes

Tímamót, or Changes in English. An upbeat, heartwarming story about Gudjon, Sigurbjorn and Steinthor who lived together for decades along with several other inhabitants in the Tjaldanes Institution, in a peaceful valley close to Reykjavik. When a decision is made to close down the institution, their life takes an unexpected turn and they discover a new side to life and to themselves.

Nikolay Dupak. About Vysotsky, Taganka and himself

Nikolay Dupak. Legendary director of the drama and comedy theater of Taganka. The story of his life is also the history of the country. Son of kulak victim of repression, he found himself at the age of 15 on the professional scene. He learned from Yury Zavadsky and Vera Maretskaya, he shot in the movies of the legendary Alexandr Dovjenko. Then it was the war. He served in the cavalry. Was heavily injured several times. After the war, he continued to study, worked for 20 years at the famous Stanislavsky Theater and, finally, almost 30 years at the Taganka. The blame, the dismissal from work, the ups and downs, all this has spanned the life of Nikolay Dupak.

Gerd Hansen, 55

In the short documentary GERD HANSEN, 55 Jochen Hick talks about an aging gay masseur and the times before AIDS. The film was premiered at the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen in 1987 and received the Prize of the German Film Critics.

Grigory Pomerantz did all the war from 1941 to 1945, roamed the Stalingrad circle, was in all the hottest battles, went all the way to Berlin. His observations and reflections on the meaning of war and man caught in the war are shocking. Nobody had thought of this way in the Great Patriotic War.

Victim Status

Through the story of the traumas and scars of seven heroines, the film deals with the psychological model that people today live in. Each of us sooner or later found ourselves in the triangle: victim-aggressor-savior, and we did not always manage to see it and stop playing the role of the function in the destructive schema.

Crespo (La continuidad de la memoria)

After the death of his father, Eduardo Crespo embarks on a journey to film a movie as they would have done together. A film about Crespo, the town where they come from, poultry farming, and the relationship the father and son used to have. Now that the main character is no longer there, the film travels around the same places. Trying to put together, through the town collective memories and a personal memory, in order to reconstruct from all these details, the figure of that father who is not there anymore.

Thousands of girls under the age of 18 are ensnared into lives of prostitution annually, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Many are runaways or "throwaways" trapped in "the oldest profession" by pimps who sell them using modern sales and marketing techniques, including the online classified website Backpage.com.
